Introduction

Not every metal construction follows standard dimensions or standard solutions.
Especially for individual designs - such as Special staircases, carports, steel and glass façades or custom-made products made of stainless steel or aluminum - are Technical understanding, experience and compliance with standards decisive.

As Publicly appointed and sworn expert for the metalworking trade I rate Special constructions and individual metal structures with regard to Load-bearing capacity, fastening, material behavior, corrosion protection and welding quality and prepare expert reports for the assessment of statics, fastening and execution quality.
The aim is to objective, comprehensible and court-proof evaluation, regardless of whether they are new buildings, renovations or cases of damage.

Scope of testing and evaluation

I test special designs and custom-made products in the following areas:

• Load-bearing capacity and statics
  → Evaluation of profile cross-sections, load transfer, connections and anchorages according to DIN EN 1993 (Eurocode 3) and DIN EN 1090-2.
• Connection technology and fastening
  → Checking screw, welded and adhesive connections, fastening to concrete, masonry or wood.
• Material selection and material behavior
  → Analysis of materials, mixed joints (e.g. stainless steel/aluminum), thermal influences, corrosion risks.
• Welding technology and surface quality
  → Testing of weld seams according to DIN EN ISO 5817 and evaluation of the surface condition according to ISO 8501-3.
• Corrosion protection and coating systems
  → Inspection of galvanizing, duplex systems, paintwork, anodic coatings.
• Special statics & vibration behavior
  → Analysis of dynamic influences (wind loads, vibrations, natural frequency).

Procedure for the assessment

1. On-site inventory
   Recording of the actual condition, measurement, visual inspection, photo documentation.

2. Technical analysis & standards comparison
Assessment in accordance with EN 1090, DIN 18800, ISO 12944, Eurocode 3 and manufacturer's documentation where applicable.

3. Checking the weld seams & fastenings
VT2/PT2 visual and penetration test, check of connection points.

4. Preparation of the expert opinion
Documentation of defects, root cause analysis, recommended action, cost estimate if necessary.
